Earlier this month, the Society for General Microbiology announced the launch of its newest open access journal, Microbial Genomics (MGen). In the video below, filmed at our annual conference in Birmingham, watch Editors-in-Chief Nicholas Thomson and Stephen Bentley and Senior Editor Jennifer Gardy discuss the journal’s scope, Editorial Board and use of Open Data.
The launch event allowed Society members, researchers and delegates at the conference to ask questions as they discussed the journal’s key features, and several of the new Editors took to Twitter to express their excitement at being a part of the Society’s latest journal. The selections from Storify below show the enthusiasm around the announcement on Twitter. You can view the full interactive Storify here.
Submissions are now open and MGen will launch fully in July 2015. For more information visit the journal website or contact the MGen publishing team. Alternatively, engage with our Editors, authors and the microbial genomics community via Twitter using #MGen.
